When I met Tim, he was persistent—two years of it, to be exact. At the time, I was used to being alone and fully focused on building my life. I knew there was something special about him, but I wasn’t ready to be vulnerable. Every time he asked me out, I said no.

Then one day, I asked him to lunch.

From the moment we sat down together, I knew I would spend the rest of my life with him. Tim possessed every quality I had been unable to find for so many years. Through him, I learned what it truly meant to love and to be loved—to be in a healthy relationship that brings comfort, and sometimes discomfort, when all you’ve known before is fight or flight.
